This type of investing simply avoids sectors that aren’t in line with your beliefs. This process is known as ‘negative screening’. Sectors commonly excluded might include fossil fuel, tobacco, gambling, and weapons.

ESG INVESTING

Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investing considers how companies manage risks and opportunities related to sustainability and corporate responsibility. This process can include ‘positive screening’, prioritising companies and sectors which demonstrate strong ESG practices.

IMPACT INVESTING

Impact investing not only excludes unsustainable sectors like ethical investing, but it also actively pursues positive solutions to environmental and social issues, including waste management, battery solutions, or renewable energy. The intention is to create measurable positive impact through investments.
